Introduction |
|
The Department is aimed at establishing
and developing a seat of excellence in Business Administration utilizing best technological
and human resources to produce dynamic and down-to-earth business leaders with enterpreneurial
skills to become self-reliant and cater to local as well as global business. If
you were managing a business, how would you cope with the rate of change in today’s
increasingly dynamic business environment? The managers have to get it right or
face the consequences. At UOS we place emphasis on what is happening in the contemporary
business world, while providing an introduction to management and business which
focuses on functional areas such as marketing, human resources, management and finance.
You will examine and appraise management concepts and frameworks used and required
by managers, and explain the importance of key functional areas and transformational
processes that contribute to the effective management of business resources to achieve
strategic objectives. You will apply business-specific tools to
a wide range of
scenarios and problems, use and practise business-specific communication techniques,
and reflect on experiences leading to personal and professional development. The
Department of Business Administration is one of the pioneer Departments established
soon after the inception of University of Sargodha. It has been entrusted among
other things, the basic duty of producing a class of professional managers who are
completely self confident and pragmatic in approach. During your first year studies
you will develop an overview of business and management, while familiarizing yourself
with the skills and tools necessary for business life and develop the critical thinking
skills necessary for academic studies and management decision making. The other
courses provide an advantage in management for those seeking senior positions in
industry, finance, marketing, and public services. The core subjects of the programs
offered, are aimed at developing knowledge
and skills in fundamental management
disciplines. The elective subjects permit course members to concentrate in-depth
on more specific subjects according to individual interests and career requirements.
The course involves participation in group work with course members from many different
industrial, commercial, geographical and cultural backgrounds, and is aimed at improving
the decision-making abilities of participants and producing managers of the highest
quality.
